**IMPORTANT 2017 CONFERENCE BELOW, PLEASE READ ENTIRE MESSAGE**

1.       The registration deadline for the 2017 Emergency Management Conference in Norman has been extended…but time is running out.  Register to attend the conference or
any of the training day sessions here:

2.       The deadline to nominate someone for one of the below annual awards to be presented at the banquet is July 28th!  The nomination form is attached, please get those to
Krystal ASAP so the selection committee can beginning reviewing them.  This is a great opportunity to show that special individual how important their contribution is to
Emergency Management in Oklahoma.

3.       There are several OEMA officer positions to be filled during the business meeting this year.  Just a quick reminder, one must be a paid OEMA member to run for office
(membership application attached).  If you would like to make a nomination for one of these vacancies please contact Kary Cox or Don Lynch with the information below.  

OEMA elections will be held at the annual meeting this year for the following positions; Vice President, Treasurer, Parliamentarian. Nominations for Vice President, Treasurer,
and Parliamentarian of the OEMA should be sent to the nomination committee for review and verification of qualifications.  Candidates must be a member in good standing and
functioning in an Emergency Management capacity within the State of Oklahoma.  A member in good standing is one that has paid membership dues prior to August 1.  
Nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the annual meeting but will still be subject to verification of qualifications.

4.       The board has been working very hard on the conference and there are some great NEW things for this year….  The most significant of those being a vendor night!  Plan
on joining us in the vendor hall Tuesday night from 5:30-9pm; food served from 6pm until gone, to visit with our vendors and sponsors!  Also new this year….  CASH prizes
being awarded prior to general sessions…  if you like cash, you’ll want to be in your seat prior to the session’s start time.  

5.        DOOR PRIZES!!  Don’t forget to bring a door prize from your jurisdiction for Thursday’s conference closing.

6.       Registration: I know many of you pay your membership and conference fees AT the conference.  While this is still acceptable, having your membership and registration
completed prior to the conference will help reduce the time you stand in line to get your conference badge and member gift.  Help us help you and get those registrations and
membership applications in early!
